Reynolds has been a CAGC member since early 2001 and over the past year the company has been a major supporter of and advocate for the BYC workforce development initiative.

D.R. Reynolds Company has a strong background in industrial construction, working for the past 32 years within the sawmill industry on the East Coast.  For over 3 decades, the company has constructed commercial warehouses, showrooms, churches, manufacturing facilities, and other projects—mainly working within North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina.  D. R. Reynolds is a Design-Build General Contracting firm that understands this industry is not easy to work in and finding good help takes outreach within the local schools and communities to encourage and support the next generation of field journeyman, foreman, estimators, project managers, and business owners.

Since BYC launched the Contractors in the Classroom program in early February of this year, D.R. Reynolds Company became heavily involved with this outreach initiative by nominating several company employees to serve as BYC Ambassadors.  Project Manager Goosie Kennedy led the charge in the Asheboro, NC area on behalf of the GC firm and delivered presentations to over 100 students at several local middle and high schools to promote construction career awareness to these future workers.

Kennedy commented on why D.R. Reynolds decided to sponsor the BYC fundraising raffle by stating: "On behalf of D. R. Reynolds Company, we want to thank CAGC and BYC for finding this solution to our ever growing workforce need so our company was happy to sponsor this fundraiser. D. R. Reynolds understands first-hand the need for skilled workers to continue the high craftsmanship that is put in place daily on job sites around the country. We look forward to continuing the commitment with the BYC Initiative in this outreach of gathering these young workers, teaching them a honest trade, and setting them apart as some of the best employees a company must have."

From nominating several key employees to serve as Ambassadors to leading numerous presentations in Asheboro, NC schools as part of the Contractors in the Classroom program to now sponsoring our fundraiser raffle, D.R. Reynolds has really stepped up to the plate to become an integral part of the core BYC outreach efforts.  Without the continued support of our CAGC member firms, we wouldn’t be able to continue promoting construction careers to future generations of workers so we salute D.R.
