Thanks to your generous donations, Build Your Career is present at multiple high school career fairs all across North and South Carolina. The day starts with setting up a booth designed to entice students to talk about construction. We give away cups, wristbands and the coolest sunshades on the planet (or so the students say.) Hundreds of students come by the booth and play a trivia game to win the goodies, all based on learning about construction. They find out why we need a contractor to get drinking water every day. They learn about how many people work in construction in their state, and they discover construction is not just about who can erect the tallest building, but also about the people who create roads and bridges as well.

We meet with teachers and counselors, provide info for parents, and partner with career and technical educators—those charged with helping students who may not want to go to college. We put the construction industry in a positive light and help students learn it’s not just a job but a fulfilling and rewarding career.
