One of the most important roles in the BYC workforce development initiative is that of our volunteer Ambassadors. Our Ambassadors are comprised of a group of CAGC member General Contractors, Specialty Contractors, Suppliers, Service Providers and various Industry constituents. These highly skilled professionals assume the role of “boots on the ground” representatives of BYC all across NC and SC. They are the advocates of the culture, mission and values of Build Your Career and feverishly work to promote our goals through various outreach efforts.
Our Ambassadors build long-lasting partnerships with local schools, businesses and workforce development agencies at all levels throughout the Carolinas. They strive to facilitate the advancement and education of America’s youth and various displaced workers by promoting lifelong careers in construction and clearly defined career pathways. Build Your Career Ambassadors are faithfully committed to elevating the industry image while ensuring our future sustainability and growth by systematically promoting the amazing earning potential, the abundance of rewarding careers available and the limitless advancement opportunities that await tomorrow’s construction workforce!
What is a BYC Ambassador?
Anyone with construction industry experience and a passion to share that expertise with students, next gen workers, and various groups of dislocated, displaced, disadvantaged or underrepresented workers can be a BYC Ambassador. Our volunteer Ambassadors are comprised of a diverse mix of individuals: our own Carolinas AGC member employers (General Contractors, Specialty Contractors, Service Providers and Suppliers), industry partners and constituents from all across North and South Carolina. But they all have one thing in common—the understanding that being a BYC Ambassador can help individuals and students of all ages, from all communities and backgrounds, gain construction industry knowledge while also providing these folks viable opportunities to learn how amazing careers in construction truly are for anyone.
