October 12, 2019:  "Touch-a-Truck" event at the Cabarrus County Arena, hosted by Cabarrus Active Living & Parks of Cabarrus County in partnership with CAGC's Build Your Career Program (Cabarrus County Arena, 4751 NC Hwy 49-North, Concord, NC 28025)

  • Event runs from 9am - 1pm & is open to the general public

  • Free admission with $5 parking per vehicle

  • kids & attendees of all ages will be able to explore various types of vehicles & see how they operate

    (Construction equipment such as dump trucks, dozers, cranes & excavators, Police cruisers, Fire trucks, EMS, SWAT & much more!)

  • onsite professional skydiving show

  • Bounce houses, hands-on activities & demo's, mascots onsite & so much more!

October 15 & 16, 2019:  "Construction Career Days" hosted by the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board at the Haywood Country Fairgrounds in Waynesville, NC (758 Crabtree Road, Waynesville, NC 28785)

Construction Career Day will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, October 15th and 16th at the Haywood County Fairgrounds, located at 758 Crabtree Road, Waynesville, NC 28785. The goals of the event are to raise awareness of the industry’s numerous careers and show the benefits and career mobility that exists within the industry; connect with local talent to focus on recruitment and retention; and promote the current job openings in the industry.

Construction Career Day is being presented by Vannoy Construction and is sponsored by the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board, Carolinas AGC,  SteelFab, Inc, Tennoca Construction Company, Haynes Electric, Harrison Construction, Emory Electric, North Carolina Home Builders Association, and AB Tech. The free event will connect local employers offering construction career opportunities with job seekers.

  • on both days, Activities will begin at 9:00 am for high school students and end at 1:00 pm and this time slot is closed to the general public

  • On Tuesday, October 15th, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, the event will be open to post-secondary students and the general public to learn more about construction careers in their area

  • School systems from the Western North Carolina area have been invited, as well as, all local community colleges and universities

  • Over 800 high school students are projected to attend

  • Admission is free!

  • Vendor booths are free & sponsorship opportunities are still available!

October 8, 2019:  "Vulcan Materials 2nd Annual SC Clay Shoot" benefiting the Tri-County Technical College Foundation's Workforce Development Initiative (The Clinton House, 15171 Hwy 56-North, Clinton, SC 29325)

  • 10:30am: Registration begins

  • 11:45am: Shoot begins (one rotation only)

  • 3pm - 5pm: Lowcountry boil, cocktails & Awards presentation

  • All proceeds benefit the TRI-county technical college foundation workforce development initiative

  • team slots & sponsorship oppotunties are still available
