In June BYC partner Pinnix, Inc. was awarded the Gaston County Schools Certificate of Recognition for their outstanding contribution to the Students @ Work Program. Ron Pantuso, Pinnix President, explained what they do; along with hosting teachers for the past two summers for educator day, they visit schools to speak directly with students and have come up with a game that wonderfully engages them directly. Students get a feel for the variety, the good salaries and the needs in construction while teachers are exposed to what it takes to run a construction company coming away with a different picture of what our industry is all about. In the months ahead, Build Your Career will showcase what other companies are doing to promote careers in construction, so prepare to be impressed by what Pinnix and others are accomplishing.
