Building Smart Partnerships to Build Our Workforce
Building Smart Partnerships to Build Our Workforce
We all know, our Industry faces shortages in skilled professionals at all levels. Solving this issue is not one we can presume others will accomplish for us; a win-win includes CAGC, through Build Your Career, continuing our collaborative effort with allied industry partners on this important issue. We got off to a great start with a visit to Harding University High School’s Construction Technology Program.
Kelvin Rattley Sr., Harding University High School Academy Coordinator (center), took Dave Simpson, CAGC (left), Mark Mueller with Wayne Brothers, Inc. (right), and Bill Stricker, CAGC (not pictured) on a tour of their facility to learn about what they are doing with the Construction Technology program. The magnet school opened in 2016 and hopes to attract students interested in a career in construction. The program specifically focuses on technical and professional level careers in designing, planning, managing, building and maintaining built environments.
#BuildYourCareer’s ultimate goal is to partner with schools like this to help spread the word about the program and to connect contractors like Wayne Brothers, Inc. with the school and its students to provide program support, help with recruitment and eventually recruit future employees directly from the program.,/p>
