An industry-leading program developed by Contract Construction, Inc. from Ballentine, SC was recently featured in the Association for Career and Technical Education’s national publication. The ACTE sought to promote this model for industry/education partnerships giving tips on strategies for making it work anywhere in the United States. “Building Berkeley” promotes the partnership between Contract Construction and Berkeley County Schools. As Greg Hughes from Contract puts it, “We wanted students to apply the STEM concepts from the classroom and see how they really transferred to the job. So, as they are taught Pythagorean Theorem in math class, they can apply it as our roofers are actually working to build their new school.”
